YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and deploy data infrastructures capable of processing data relating to
next-generation sequencing (exome, RNA, targeted libraries) and storing in
relational databases for ease of use by data scientists and biologists
Work with bioinformaticists to improve the efficiency of algorithms and optimize
multithreaded algorithms to be run in high-performance computing environments
and the cloud
Continually update robust data infrastructures for scale and ease of use
Interfacing with a team of computational and experimental biologists to aid in data storage and processing designs
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
2+ years industry experience relevant to data infrastructure, sharing, maintenance, and processing
Experience with cloud-based storage systems and servers
Self-motivated and a proactive thinker – can work independently and in teams
Excellent written and communication skills presenting scientific data
Experience working with next-generation sequencing data (exome, RNA, targeted
Experience generating data infrastructure for machine learning applications
Experience with Amazon Web Services (ec2 instances, redshift, docker, etc.)
Experience with high-performance computing languages (Hadoop, Scala)
